The room had its own washer/dryer, which was a lifesaver for those staying longer. Conveniently located right next to the bus station for easy access to local tours.
No breakfast option available at the hotel, and the attached café has limited hours, opening only at 10am. One small elevator for the entire hotel results in long wait times, especially for higher floors, leading some to opt for the stairs instead.

i had a wonderful stay at residence hotel takayama! my room was super clean and had fragrant amenities. the fully equipped kitchen was a lifesaver, and the balcony offered a fantastic view of the train station. the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help, even delivering extra bottled water when i asked. the location is perfect, right next to the bus and train stations.
would recommend.

oh the nerve of this place! my room was as cozy as a freezer, and the alleged cleaning left the kitchenette looking like a war zone! i asked for a welcome gift—a simple bottle of water would’ve sufficed—but nope, just radio silence. and the floor creaked like an old ship with every step from above. what a joke!

Spacious Rooms and Great Amenities
I recently stayed for one night and was pleasantly surprised by the size of my room. it had a kitchen and its own laundry facilities, which were super convenient. The hotel is just a couple of minutes from the Takayama train station, yet surprisingly quiet. I really appreciated the thoughtful touch of complimentary drinks in the fridge. However, I wish the bathrooms at the lobby were better maintained.
